The below schedule has been updated for Spring 2018.

The cost for intramural baseball is $70 and registration is now open. The late registration fee for anyone who registers on or after April 2nd, 2018 is $85.

Monday, March 19th | 7pm - 8pm | Parent Meeting at Baysox Stadium

This meeting is an informational meeting as well as a Q&A session which will include:

  • Equipment players need vs. what's nice to have
  • Player evaluation day
  • How teams will be formed subsequent to evaluation day
  • Returning coach discount [new for this season]
  • Expectations for coaches, players, and parents
  • Rules for the various age groups

Saturday, March 24th | 12pm - 2pm | Player evaluation day (No evaluations for T-Ball) at Jericho Park
Bowie Bulldogs Baseball conducts player evaluations so that we can create equally competitive rosters.  If you do not participate in the evaluation day, your player will receive a 3-star (out of 5) rating strictly for the purpose of player distribution.  We will conduct evaluations on Saturday unless the fields are closed due to weather, in which case we will have evaluations the following day.

Week of March 26th | Player draft and roster notification
Age group directors will fill teams based on prior year rosters, coach/parent requests, and player evaluations so that teams are balanced. Roster notifications will be sent from BBGC via email to all parents no later than Friday night (March 30th).

Saturday, March 31st | 8am - 10am | Coaches Equipment Pickup
Coaches come to the baseball shed to pickup equipment, balls, and baseball shirts for your team.  The baseball shed is located on Public Works Road [Off of Route 450 past Sacred Heart Church. Public Works Road is on the left before you reach Route 3.  Equipment shed is located at the end of this road.]

Week of April 2nd | Practice begins for all age groups
Intramural coaches will set the schedule for when they practice but typically practices are held twice a week.  Children participating in the intramural league will practice and play at area parks and schools located in Bowie.  Intramural baseball will conclude the weekend before Prince Georges County school ends.

April 14th | Play Ball!
Games begin this weekend.

TBD  | League Night at The Baysox
Our Bulldogs head over to PG Stadium to see our Bowie Baysox in action.  Players and head coaches will receive free tickets.  Coaches will collect money for player parents and siblings.  Additional tickets will be distributed to coaches 1 week before the game.  The team that sells the most tickets gets to take the field with the Baysox players before the game begins.  All the players get to run the bases after the game.

June 9th | End of regular season (last weekend for T-ball)
This weekend is the last weekend for T-ball (with the exception of any makeup games).

June 11th - 16th | End of season tournament

Single elimination tournament format for Coach Pitch, Minor, and Major divisions.  Every team makes it in, but which team will win the city championship? Elimination games during the week, and the championship game on Saturday.

June 23rd (10am - 12pm) & June 25th (6pm - 8pm) | Equipment Return
Coaches come to the baseball shed to return equipment.  The baseball shed is located on Public Works Road [Off of Route 450 past Sacred Heart Church. Public Works Road is on the left before you reach Route 3.  Equipment shed is located at the end of this road.]

August 15th |  Fall Travel Baseball tryouts
Visit the Travel baseball page for the specifics of tryout dates and times for the various age groups.  Come tryout.  If your kid likes baseball, let the coach decide if your kid is good enough for travel ball.  Don't decide for him.  I say this because 4 things happen when a kids try out.
  1. The kid makes the team because he/she is flat out good enough.
  2. The kid makes the team because a travel baseball player is playing a different fall sport.
  3. The kid doesn't make the team, but sees what needs to be worked on to have a chance in the Spring.
  4. There are enough kids for a 2nd team.

Don't forget to throw the ball around during the summer.  Maybe even head over to Jericho (field 3), Foxhill (field 3), or Blacksox (big field at the front of the entrance) and spend some time hitting balls in the cages!

The age chart is listed below.  If you have problems with the chart please send an email to baseball@bbgc.com.

Thanks - Bowie Bulldogs Baseball
